BANGKOK: Thailand’s former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra has gained total control over English Premiership side Manchester City, his lawyer said on Monday. Thaksin, who was ousted in a coup d’etat last September, made a successful £81.6mil bid for a majority stake in the Premier League team last month, and since then has been acquiring additional shares. “The Shinawatra family has managed to acquire at least 75% of shares in the holding company of Manchester City football club. Total control has been transferred to the family,” said Noppadol Pattama, Thaksin’s lawyer and de facto spokesman in Thailand, at a news conference. A 75% holding would allow Thaksin to delist the club from the London Stock Exchange and take it into private ownership, which Noppadol indicated was his intention. “The next step is to recruit or to buy new players from several national teams such as Italy, Sweden, Brazil and Thailand,” said Noppadol. “We expect to select at least two Thai players from our national team to join Manchester City.” – AP

网易体育7月24日消息 在成功入主英超曼城之后，泰国前总理他信-西那瓦还在为了完全掌控这家百年俱乐部而努力。过去的几周，他信一直都在提高持股份额，现在他终于完成了这个心愿。本周一（23日），据其律师透露，他信手中握有的曼城股份已经超过了75％，达到了控制曼城俱乐部的底线。
根据现行法律，只要他信掌握的曼城股权超过75％的控股底线，他就有能力独立运行俱乐部，并有权将曼城从伦敦证券交易所撤牌，使俱乐部成为私人产业。如果他拥有90％的股份，他就可以强制性购买剩余的10％的股份，把俱乐部变成自己百分之百的私产。
在本周一的新闻发布会上，他信-西那瓦的律师诺帕多尔-帕塔马证实了泰国前总理完全控制曼城的消息：“西那瓦（他信）家族持有的曼城股票已经达到75％，他现在已经完全控制了曼城足球俱乐部。”
“俱乐部的完全控制权已经移交到了他信家族。”
在完成对曼城的控制后，他信将把注意力完全转移到球队的组建上来，他将会向新帅斯文-戈兰-埃里克松提供更多的转会资金。
迄今为止，前英格兰主帅已经敲定了3位新援：曼城以880万英镑签下意大利前锋罗兰多-比安奇、以200万英镑引进瑞士中场杰尔森-费尔南德斯，并且免费签下巴西锋线多面手吉奥瓦尼（Geovanni），瑞典人希望还能招揽更多的精兵强将。
不过，据诺帕多尔透露，他信还有意将一些泰国国脚带到曼城，这一点或许是埃里克松始料未及的。

At the fair, the former premier urged the interim government to work harder to bring peace and stability. For the first time, Thaksin commented on the Asset Exa-mination Committee’s freezing of his assets. He told Taiwan’s China Times that this was politically motivated. Since he was ousted in a coup, the former PM has been charged with concealment of assets, tax evasion and abuse of power. According to his legal aides, Thaksin is likely to return to Thailand on August 14, primarily to “fight for his reputation”. But a source familiar with the litigation said he would immediately return to London once he had testified before the court.

（曼谷20日美聯電）泰國前首相達辛週四起訴泰資產審查委員會，索償500億銖（約50億令吉），以補償他多次遭凍結財產造成的損失。 達辛的律師團入稟曼谷民事法院，指控資產審委會1非法凍結達辛在國內銀行戶頭的15億8000萬銖(1.58億令吉）的款項。 泰國軍人去年9月發動不流血政變推翻達辛，接著委派資產審委會調查達辛的資產。 達辛的律師與發言人納巴多在提呈起訴書后，在記者會上說：“那些被凍結的款項原可投資于其他產業，以獲取更高回酬。遭凍結，就失去投資的機會。這也損及他的名聲。他別無其他選擇，只有尋求法律途徑，追回財產和挽回聲譽。” “我們要資產審查委員會賠償500億1600萬銖（50億160萬令吉），1600萬銖是賠償失去投資的機會，500億銖賠償是名譽與尊嚴造成的損害。” 達辛的妻子和子女，稍遲些也將分別起訴資產審查委員會。
